Roadside workers block traffic

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
CHANDIGARH, Feb 12: A joint procession by Footpath Cycle Workers Union, Dhobi Welfare Society, Pan Beeri and Tea Sellers Welfare Society, Guru Ravi Dass Roadside Shoe Repair Society and Roadside Barber Welfare Society was taken out today to press for their demands concerning issuance of identity cards and licences.

The different associations which were led by their respective leaders, jointly staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office. According to the general secretary of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee (I), Gurbhachan Singh the workers were assured by the deputy commissioner that their demands would be met within one month.
