CHANDIGARH, Feb 12: As many as 1,200 students were examined at a two-day free medical camp held at Kendriya Vidayalaya No. 2, Air Force station here.The camp, organised jointly by the Hospital Welfare Section of the UT Red Cross and the No. 3 Base Repair Depot, was inaugurated by Rama Chhibber, wife of Punjab Governor, Lt Gen B.K.N. Chhibber (retd).
While emphasising on good health, which she said was as essential as good education, Rama Chhibber also appreciated the work done by the Red Cross.
Advisor to the UT Administrator, Jagdish Sagar who was also present on the occasion, advised the children to go in for medical check-ups regularly.
Besides four government doctors, five private practitioners also volunteered their services free of cost. A colourful cultural programme was also staged by the students.
Later, Rama Chhibber gave away prizes to students who had excelled in sports, arts and cultural activities in the current academic session.
