12 killed on second day of Central rule
While Governor Sundar Singh Bhandari promised to give top priority to law and order in Bihar, seven people were shot in Jehanabad and four burnt in Patna on Day Two of President's rule in the state.

New synthetic malaria vaccine promises good results
A team of American researchers at the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta and their collaborators at the National Institute of Immunology (NII) here have developed a malaria vaccine based on a synthetic gene which they believe could protect people from the deadliest type of malaria caused by P Falciparum parasite.

What's behind love? Oxytocin
Scientists have identified the hormone that creates the 'chemistry of love'. According to British obstetrician Michael Odent, a loving touch between a man and woman, a hug or a kiss between mother and child triggers the release of a hormone oxytocin -- produced in the hypothalmus -- the region of the brain most intimately connected with thought and emotion.
