VHP too getting foreign funds, says NCM

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, FEB 14: National Commission for Minorities (NCM) Chairman Dr Tahir Mehmood has said that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad might be getting more foreign funds than Christian missionaries, and rejected the charge of ``appeasement'' of minorities levelled by some parties.

``I do not think there is any community getting more foreign funds than the Hindus. It is common knowledge that the VHP is getting millions of rupees from outside,'' he told Eenadu Television in an interview. Rejecting the charge that minorities had been appeased in the past, Mehmood said, ``There can be no more foolish statement. What you call appeasement, has been the fulfilment of the due rights of the minorities under the Constitution of India.'`
