ATCs threaten to intensify strike

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, Feb 14: The ATC Guild spearheading the agitation of the Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) disrupting flight schedules since the last two weeks, has said it will intensify its stir if the Airports Authority of India (AAI) resorts to ``victimisation tactics''.

The AAI has meanwhile declared a state of industrial unrest at airports country-wide and has also prepared a contingency plan to rope in the services of the Indian Air Force ATCs to man all major airports. The AAI has also filed a contempt petition in the Delhi High Court against the ATC Guild, claiming that the latter has violated an indefinite injunction on strikes given in 1997.
