VADODARA, Feb 14: ONGC Mahila Samiti, Mehsana donated artificial equipment to the Apang Seva Trust at Nagar Mehsana. The artificial equipment, which includes four wheelers, aluminium crutches, callipers, besides others, were distributed to the children in the presence of H B Varia, collector and district magistrate, Mehsana, and Project Head, ONGC, Mehsana.ONGC's Cambay Project, too, extended financial assistance to Jeevan Jyoti, Kanewal, an NGO working for the welfare of the physically handicapped children, to purchase a set of physiotherapy instruments. J B Bhaya, General Manager (P&A), ONGC, Western Region, Vadodara presented a cheque to the institution trustee.
Safety week: Preparations for the 22nd safety week have begun at the ONGC, Vadodara. Poster, slogan and cartoon competitions on safety and environment have been organised for employees and their family members. A cultural programme, including drama, mimicry, songs and poems, will also be held during the week.
Contract awarded: ONGC, Western Region was approached by Oil India Limited to provide technical consultancy and operating services for cementing and work over operation in the Rajasthan project for three gas wells to be drilled at Tanot area of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. The contract was awarded to ONGC on terms and conditions effective with the international contracts which includes quality of performance from design to operation and post-job results. The first cementing contract was completed to the entire satisfaction of the client and the contract was extended due to ONGC's performance which was at par with industry standards. The total financial earning for ONGC has been to the tune of Rs 1 crore.
ONGC team wins: ONGC veteran cricket team led by M R Shaikh recently won the IVth All-India PSCV Veteran Cricket Tournament organised by IPCL at Nagothane from January 31st to February 3rd at their MGCC Complex. Five teams drawn from IOC, ONGC, BPCL, IPCL and EIL participated in the meet, where around 25 former Ranji players represented their organisations. ONGC team was represented by 15 veteran cricketers of which eight are from WRBC.
