MUMBAI, FEB 22: The electronic connectivity between the National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)-promoted Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL) has been hit by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines which discourage connectivity between two wide area networks (WANs).
The guidelines may have been prepared at the time of drafting the act keeping in mind a single depository. But with the emergence of CDSL on the scene, changes would be required in the depositories act. According to a Sebi official, the capital market regulator would take steps to ensure that there is no ambiguity in the act.
