Change in movement of traffic at CST
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICEMUMBAI, February 23: The construction of the pedestrian subway at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) is entering its second phase. Work will be carried out at Mahapalika Marg and the western carriage-way of Dadabhai Naoroji Road in front of the BMC. Traffic arrangements have been made to regulate traffic on D N Road, Hazarimal Somani Marg and Mahapalika Marg: D N Road will be one way for north bound vehicular traffic from CST railway station to the junction of D N Road and Sabhagriha Marg. No entry to Sabhagriha Marg from D N Road. No entry for north bound Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) except BEST and school buses to D N Road from Bhatia Baug junction. Traffic has to take a right turn and proceed along Walchand Heerachand Marg, and after negotiating a left turn at Avatarsingh Gill chowk, proceed to north along P D Mello Road.No right turn for traffic proceeding along Hazarimal Somani Marg towards North at CST junction. BEST buses proceeding alongHazarimal Somani Marg and negotiating right turn at CST junction should take a right at OCS junction and come to CST via Hutatma Chowk. No entry to D N Road for south-bound traffic at Himalaya House. No entry for HMVs except BEST buses, school buses and emergency vehicles to Ibrahim Rahimatulla Road at the J J Hospital junction. HMV traffic will negotiate a left turn at JJ junction and proceed along Ramchandra Bhatt Lane, Noor Baug junction, Meishery Road, Chinchbunder junction,Wadi Bunder junction and along P D'Mello Road towards the south.Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
