Counting and repoll today
Repolling will be held in Veratia-Bajrangpur polling booths of Jodia Assembly constituency on Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m, an official release said on Monday. The Election Commission had declared Monday's polling in these segments null and void. Counting for Jetpur and Jodia constituencies will begin from 8 a.m. on Wednesday and trends are expected at about 3 p.m.

New branch
Rajkot: The State Bank of Saurashtra opened its 393rd branch at Moti Khavdi, near Jamnagar. It is the first fully computerised branch of any public sector bank in the rural area. The branch was inaugurated by Parimal Nathwani of RPL. The SBS managing director S B Kucheria was the chief guest for the occasion. The gathering was addressed by T Balkrishnan, deputy GM, H P Rakhasia, assistant GM and J D Nakum, workmen director. Branch managar C B Sarvaiya proposed the vote of thanks.

Group formed
A Western Region Truck, Tempo, Tankers, Bus Association has been formed in a meeting of representatives of four states -- Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, held at Nashik in Maharashtra. Bharatsinh P Rana, the general secretary of Rajkot Goods Transport Association, is appointed the honorary secretary of the association. The other appointed office-bearers include Mohinder Singh Ghura, president, Sahagmal Kataria, senior vice-president, Nilesh Patal, general secretary and S S Shetty, treasurer. The others vice-presidents are Prakash Gawali of Maharashtra, Nandlal Thapar of Gujarat, Bharat Singh of Madhya Pradesh, Ved Prakash Sethi of Rajasthan and secretaries are Niranjan Tayada of Maharashtra, Bharat Singh Rana of Gujarat, Madanlal Malaviya of Madhya Pradesh and Inder Kumar Chhadda of Rajasthan.
