Woman killed by husband in city

RAJKOT, Feb 23: A woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Srinath Society on Monday night. According to information, 35-year-old Madhu was fatally hit on her head by her husband Arjan after a tiff at their residence.

It is learnt that Arjan was having an extra-marital affair in Maharashtra which led to the dispute between the couple. A case against the accused has been registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Raidhan, the brother-in-law of the deceased.

Meanwhile, three more unnatural deaths were reported to police over the last 24 hours. Two women identified as 45-year-old Akkuben of Mayur Nagar and 42-year-old Doodhiben of Bhagirath Society died of stove bursts while 22-year-old Mukesh staying near the Kaiser-E-Hind bridge allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide. The cause of his taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

Local police have also arrested one Kishor Gohil of Indira Nagar and recovered 10 litres of country-made liquor.
