Match-fixing started in India: Judge
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, Feb 23: The judge looking into the allegations of match-fixing and betting against Pakistan's leading cricketers today said he will recommend that those guilty be banned for life. ``I have prima facie evidence and I am now fully satisfied that match-fixing is going on,'' Justice MM Qayyum of the Lahore HC said. Qayyum, whose final report is expected in a fortnight, said that though his scope of inquiry was limited to Pakistan, the evidence with him suggests that the entire match-fixing business started in India when Asif Iqbal led the side here.Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
