V-C's resignation accepted

SHIMLA, Feb 24: V-C of Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, has resigned from the post.

According to a Raj Bhawan release, Governor V.S.Rama Devi, who is also Chancellor of the University has accepted the resignation of L.R.Verma. She also has waived of the period of one month notice in consultation with the state government. The Chancellor has directed R.P. Awasthi, director of Research at the university to carry out the duties of the V-C with effect from March 1 in addition to his own duties till further orders.

A three-member selection committee has been constituted by the Chancellor to recommend a panel of suitable persons to be appointed as vice-chancellor, the release said.
