Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Gaye, very secretly

Express News Service
MUMBAI, February 24: Superstar Kajol and longtime beau, actor Ajay Devgan, wed this evening with a simple, traditional Hindu ceremony. Contrary to expectations apart from close family and friends there were no invitees from the Hindi film industry. The wedding which was attended by barely 50 people was conducted at Ajay Devgan's plush terrace flat in Juhu and was out of bounds for press and photographers. In fact, following a report in an English daily that the marriage was to take place at a gurudwara in Versova, hundreds of fans and mediapersons gathered there from the morning to catch a glimpse of the stars. But this venue was later changed to maintain privacy.

Sources said plans for a lavish wedding were cancelled following the death of Ajay Devgan's grandmother a few days ago. The only pre-wedding function was a mehndi-cum-sangeet organised by the bride's mother Tanuja at their residence in South Mumbai yesterday. Among the guests there were some of Kajol's closest friends from the Bombay film industryincluding, Karan and Yash Johar, director Rahul Rawail who gave the actress her first break with Bekhudi and ace photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha. Kajol who was dressed in a green Maharashtrian saree arrived for the marriage accompanied by her mother and grandmother Shobhana Samarth. The couple leave tomorrow for a 15-day honeymoon to Europe and are back mid-March to resume shooting for home productions, Dil Kya Kare directed by Prakash Jha and Hindustan Ki Kasam.
