US rights report slams India for anti-Christian violence
As expected, the US State Department's annual human rights reports for 1999 has slammed India for a whole range of abuses including "increasing societal violence against Christians.''

The Delhi High Court has taken cognizance of a petition filed by Kala Math, a registered, independent body comprising artistes, writers and musicians, challenging the Union Cabinet's decision to amend the Constitution of the Lalit Kala Akademi.

CTBT: Jaswant denies secret deal with US
The Central Government today rejected Opposition charges in the Lok Sabha that it had entered into a "secret deal" with the US on signing the CTBT and asserted that its stand on the issue was "explicit, clear, unambiguous and categorical".
