Annual vintage car fiesta today
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, FEB 27: Despite a few sleepless nights, Nitin Dossa oozed enthusiasm as participants in the eighth Castrol Vintage and Classic Car Club of India's (VCCI) fiesta lined for judging at the Express Towers today. His `baby' -- the VCCI's annual rally -- will be flagged off from Nariman Point in the morning and will end there after covering 60 kilometres via Juhu. Thanks to Federation Internationale Vehicles Association's recognition, VCCI could now hold an international rally, Dossa explained. ``We have already sent out invitations. The event will be held on January 21, 2000,'' he said. The rally will cover 1800 kilometres from New Delhi to Mumbai. Dossa was also upbeat because of the record number of entries received for the event this year. The 164 vehicles entering the contest are not because of the new category introduced -- vehicles made between 1961 and '70. But because ``the movement is growing,'' explained Dossa. The judging is done a day in advance because of the volume of entries. AbbasJasdanwala's 1908 Wolseley, participating after five years, is the oldest four-wheeler in fray.
