Govt denies PM's `remark' on Kashmir

NEW DELHI: India today described as incorrect a comment attributed to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee during his talks with Nawaz Sharif last week. Reports from Islamabad had quoted Sharif as saying that Vajpayee had commented `you are right', when Sharif stated that Kashmiris should decide on their right to self-determination.

New diesel rates

NEW DELHI: THE government today officially released the new retail prices for petrol and diesel consequent to the revision in customs and excise duties on petroleum products, in the Union Budget. The prices were revised effective midnight of 27th/28th February. The estimated prices (in Rs/litre) for the retail selling of petrol (Ms 87) and HSD in the city are: Petrol: Existing price 27.97, revised price 27.81; High Speed Diesel: existing price 10.04, revised price 11.21.
