Set ablaze, she burns him too

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, March 1: A 33-year-old woman from Pimpri was critically injured when she was set afire, allegedly by her husband, a clerk at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), on Sunday evening.

Jayashri Jadhav has been admitted to a private hospital. Her husband Rajendra who also suffered injuries when she death-hugged him has also been hospitalised.

Jayashri's sister-in-law Ranjana Ramesh Jadhav (36) and brother-in-law Khandu Narayan Ovale (42) have been arrested by the Chatuhshrungi police for abetting the murder attempt.

Jayashri's brother Nandakumar Harpale lodged a first information report late on Monday night, the police said.

The FIR accused Rajendra of attempting to murder Jayashri over the demand that she bring Rs two lakh from her parents to build them a house. It also alleged that Ranjana, Khandu and their relatives Vijay Sane and Dnyaneshwar Kale instigated Rajendra to commit the crime.
