Pak holds semainar in violation of Lahore deal

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
Amritsar, Mar 3: In a clear violation of the Lahore declaration of non-interference in each others internal affairs, Pakistan has allowed on its soil anti-India propaganda permitting the newly formed non-governmental organisation (NGO) South-Asian Centre for Peace and Human Rights to hold its first seminar at Islamabad on Monday.

According to the state-run Pakistan TV and a fax report sent to Dal Khalsa office here, the seminar discussed ``human rights violations in South Asia by India''. It was presided by Pakistan's federal Minister for religious affairs, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq and attended among others by representatives of some foreign embassies at Islamabad and of Sikhs, Kashmiris and Christians from Pakistan and abroad.

Reports prepared by Prof Jagmohan Singh, general-secretary of Akali Dal headed by Simranjit Singh Man and human rights activists Ram Narayan Kumar and Cynthia Mehmood under the title of ``Is Indian Punjab still a police state'' were distributed at the seminar.
