Man attacked with swords
A Sector 16 resident, Yadvinder Puri, reported that a Sector 9 resident, A. P. Singh and some other men, attacked him with swords and knives. Police said it was a case of landlord-tenant dispute. A case has been registered for causing hurt and rioting under Section 147, 148, 149, 452 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code.

Woman consumes poison, dies
A Sector 24 resident, Rita Devi, reportedly consumed a poisonous substance at a shop in Badheri village ``by mistake''. She was admitted to the PGI where she died, police said. A Daddumajra resident has been admitted to PGI with 100 per cent burns which she reportedly sustained as a result of a stove-burst at her house. Her condition is stated to be ``very critical'', police said.3 hurt in scuffle
Three persons were injured in a scuffle in Mauli Jagran. Police said Mauli Jagran resident Suresh Kumar reported that Badal, Rattan, Mohan, Raju, Tony, Dolly and others from Sansi Colony attacked him and his friends. The police have arrested one person and registered a case of rioting.

Caught playing satta
A Sector 20 resident, Guru Dutt, was arrested while he was allegedly playing satta. He was nabbed from Sector 29 under the Gambling Act.
