Vishwas, Shrikant win
Vishwas Joshi and Shrikant Rao beat their respective opponents in the singles events of the Industrial tennis tournament organised by Krupp Industries India Ltd. at the Deccan Gymkhana courts here today.

Vishwas, of Cummins, defeated Rohit Bhandari of Infosys 9-0, while Bajaj Auto's Shrikant Rao clinched a 9-8 (7-1) win over Weikfield's Ashwini Malhotra.

In the semi-finals of the doubles events, the duo of Veerdhawal Shirole and Gautam Shikdar of Thermax beat Rohit Bhandari and Vijay Venkat of Infosys 6-0, 6-2, while Cummin's Vishwas Joshi and Sandeep Belludi defeated Rohinton Israni and Ashwani Malhotra 0-6, 6-4, 10-8.

Boxing meet
A one day Invitational Boxing meet will be conducted by Avdait Sports Centre, at the SP College campus premises on March 7.

The meet will be held in sub-junior, junior and senior categories. Weighing in and other formalities will be at the premises of the Pune District Amateur Boxing Association, within the Nehru Stadium complex.

Pune Mayor's trophy
The Maharashtra Amateur Boxing Association will conduct a state level boxing meet for the `Pune Mayor's Trophy' at the Nehru Stadium from March 8 to 10.

The contest is open for senior participants in the age category of 17-32 years. The tournament will be inaugurated by the Pune Mayor Vatsala Andekar.

Weighing in and other formalities will be conducted at the competition venue on March 8 from 8:00 a.m. onwards.

Kaustubh, Omkar get black belt
Kaustubh V Sahasrabuddhe and Omkar Dhavalikar of Muktangan Karate Club emerged successful in the `Black Belt' examination held by the Universal Shotokan Karate Federation (USF) here on Sunday.

They received the Black Belt and the certificate from Sanjay S Pawar, chief instructor of the institute.
