VADODARA, March 4: The EME School, Vadodara, will be awarded ISO-9001 certificate at a function at the Eugene Stadium here on Saturday. The certificate would be presented by Chief Executive of Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), Mumbai K Madhok. Lt Gen M R Kochhar, PVSM, AVSM, Director General of Electricals and Mechanical Engineers, Corps of EME will also remain present.Raised in 1963, EME School, Vadodara is a premier training institution of the Indian Army imparting training to officers, men and civilians of the Corps of the EME up to post-graduate level in varied disciplines like weapons, vehicles, instruments, opto-electronic and medical equimpment and automated data processing.
Having established a modern and scientific training infrastructure, EME School offered it for an external audit by the IRQS for attaining ISO-9001 certification. This was carried out from February this year and the award was recommended.
Meanwhile, the two-day Director General of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DGEME) Golf Championship 1999 will be organised at EME School Golf Club from Saturday.
The championship will be a team event played over 36 holes as stroke play against full handicap. Individual events will also be considered concurrently.
