Prelim test for JBT teachers

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, MARCH 5: The UT Education department has decided to conduct preliminary tests for about 30 posts of Elementary Teachers Training (ETT) and nursery school teachers.

According to D.S. Mangat, DPI, the decision has been taken keeping in view the entries being received from all over the country. "We have implemented the Supreme Court judgment that all the posts should be advertised in open," he said.

Earlier, all candidates shortlisted by the employment exchange who appeared for the written test used to be interviewed. "It would not be possible this time when we are expecting more than 4,000 applications for the posts of JBT and nursery teachers," Mangat said. The selection procedure is likely to be completed within a month. As many as 10 candidates will be considered against one post on the basis of a preliminary test and they will be eligible for the written test. The same procedure will be followed for filling 311 new posts of school teachers in the UT Education Department.
