Indoor pollution most potent health hazard

Chandigarh, March 7: We talk about environmental pollution all the time, yet we have ignored what happens all the time under our own roof.

This was stated by Prof R.C. Sobti, Chairman of the Department of Bio-Technology, Panjab University, in his keynote address on ``Indoor pollution'' during the third annual convention of the Indian Association of Biology Teachers (Colleges) held at the Government College for Girls Sector 42, here, today.

Dr Sobti pointed out that a ``Total Exposure Assessment'' study conducted by the Harward University pointed out that indoor pollution was the most important factor in destroying our health,'' he said.

Dr Amit Ghosh, Director of the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) was the chief guest, while Prof S.P. Vij, chairman of the Department of Botany, PU, and Prof S.M. Handa, chairman of the Department of Zoology, were also present.
