Travel agent booked for fraud

Chandigarh, March 7: The city police have registered a case against the director of a Sector 34-based travel agents firm for allegedly cheating a city resident.

The case was registered under Section 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and Section 24 of the Immigration Act, by the Economic Offences Wing of the city police on the basis of a complaint filed by Sector 44 resident Col Mohan Singh (retd).Police sources said that Mohan Singh paid a sum of Rs 5 lakhs to the director for emigraton of his two sons to Canada. As he felt the director was dily-dallying in matter, Mohan Singh insisted for return of money. However the cheques he was issued by the directors bounced.
