PATIALA, MARCH 7: The Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti has decided to participate in the ongoing Kar Sewa at Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib here, from March 9.Anil Sood, president of the local unit of the samiti, said here today that the decision had been taken at a meeting of many religious organisations including Navyuvak Sewa Samiti, Radha Sharnam Maha Sabha, Ravi Dass Mohalla Committee, Radha Krishna Mandir Committee, Krishna Colony, Shiv Shakti Sewa Dal Langar Committee, Kali Devi Mandir, Tung Nath Mandir Committee, Bagichi Mangal Dass Mohalla Committee and Shri Ram Charitar Parchar Sabha. He said the kar sewaks would be led by Sanjeev Bhardwaj, president of the samiti.
Meanwhile, a large number of devotees are thronging the gurdwara to participate in the ongoing kar sewa to build a new building for this historic gurdwara. The foundation stone of the new building was laid by the panj piaras. President of Shriomani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Gurcharan Singh Tohra also took part in the ceremony.
It may be mentioned here that the 70 year-old gurdwara building was pulled down on safety considerations.
