Torture case
The Makarpura police registered a case against three persons, all residents of Danteshwar, for allegedly subjecting one woman to physical and mental torture. The victim has in her complaint stated that her in-laws were harassing her for not bringing enough dowry.

Suicide
Surat: The dead body of Dipak Suresh Shinde (20), a resident of Nana Varachha, was found hanging from a bridge across the Tapi river on Sunday morning, the Kapodara police said. Dipak had hanged himself to the bridge near the Varachha Water Works Tank before 6.30 am with a saree, the police added. The body has been handed over to the family after a post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered, the police said.
