20-yr-old ends life
The dead body of Dipak Suresh Shinde (20), a resident of Nana Varachha, was found hanging from a bridge across the Tapi river on Sunday morning, the Kapodara police said. Dipak had hanged himself to the bridge near the Varachha Water Works Tank before 6.30 am with a saree, the police added. The body has been handed over to the family after a post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered, the police said.

Burns deaths
One Manju Savji Rathod, a resident of Jokha village of Kamrej taluka, in the district died in the New Civil Hospital of burn injuries sustained a week ago while cooking, the police said. The 40-year-old victim was cooking in her house when the stove exploded, a case registered under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure said. In another burns death on Sunday afternoon, 40-year-old Chandrakant Jaikishan Rana, a resident of Man Darwaja area died in the New Civil hospital. The Salabatpura police, quoting the dying declaration of the victim, said that he was cooking on a kerosene stove in his house on Thursday night when it exploded, causing him severe burns and was since being treated at the New Civil hospital.

Arrested
The Chowk Bazaar police arrested two persons for their involvement in offences committed in the past fortnight. One Rekhaben Jayesh Gilitwala was arrested from near the railway station by the police, a fortnight after she eloped with a lover and also stole valuables and cash worth Rs 25,000 from her husband's house at Muglisara. The woman however maintained that she had been to her parents' house, the police stated. In another arrest, Pramod Natu Patel, resident of Un village on the outskirts of the city, was arrested for injuring a person a few days ago on the road. All the accused will be produced before a magistrate on Monday.
