Easy for Youth XI

CHANDIGARH, March 7: Youth Club, Dera Bassi beat Mohali XI convincingly by five wickets in the second Shankar Lal Memorial cricket tournament here today.

After bundling out Mohali XI for 115, Rajesh Vaid and Kulwant Thapar played steadily to guide Youth Club home without any trouble.

In another match, Ritesh Manchanda's fine all round show (4 for 23 and 79 not out) helped Videocon XI beat Bombay XI by five wickets, while Sagar Sports XI beat Kalsi XI by three runs in the last match.

Scores: Mohali XI: 115 (Gurbachan Singh 30, Kamal 16; Inderjit Singh 2-18) lost to Youth XI: 116 for 5 (Rajesh Vaid 35, Kulwant Thapar 20 n.o.; Dinesh Rana 2-25). Bombay XI: 155 for 8 (Madan Lal 47, Ajay Bhatia 27; Ritesh Manchanda 4-23, Harminder Singh 2-30) lost to Videocon XI: 157 for 5 (Ritesh Manchanda 79 n.o., Munish 49; Madan Lal 3-26). Sagar XI: 131 for 8 (Mohinder 42, Deepak 32, Manmohan 25; Mahesh 2-27, Davinder 2-30) beat 128 (Vikrant Joshi 22, Manish 23; Sonpreet 2-1, Anil Sharma 2-28).
