Bomb hoax delays Deccan Queen

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, March 10: The Pune-bound Deccan Queen was today delayed for one and a half hour following a bomb threat. According to the railway police, the control at Byculla recived a call in the evening from the Pune railway control alerting that a bomb had been planted in the air-conditioned compartment of the train.

The train, which had already departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, was detained at Thane station and passengers were asked alight. However, a thorough check revealed no explosives.

The duty officer at Byculla informed that M B Adhadar, a resident of Pune received a call today that a bomb had been planted in the train in which her husband was travelling. She immediately called the Pune city control who in turn informed the Mumbai control. However, the call proved to be a hoax.
