VADODARA, MARCH 10: The Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA) will celebrate the silver jubilee of its foundation on Saturday.Founder President of ERDA P R Deshpande will be the chief guest on the occasion and lay the foundation stone for the Silver Jubilee Hall while President IEEMA Premchand Goliya will deliver the Foundation Day lecture, ERDA Director M Ramamoorty told press persons today.Chairman of Jyoti Ltd Nanubhai Amin, Gujarat Electricity Board Chairman Nalin Bhatt, Secretary, State Department of Industries and Mines, A K Joti, M S University Vice Chancellor Anil Kane and ERDA President T K Mukherjee will be present on the occasion.
A cultural evening will also be organised as part of the celebrations at the ERDA premises at GIDC, Makarpura from 6.30 pm onwards.
ERDA came into existence as a co-operative Industry Research Association in 1974 supported by the Government of India and the State government catering to the need for co-operative research, development and testing facility felt by electrical manufacturing industries and utilities. ERDA aims at applied research towards better utilisation of existing materials, improvement in materials, substitution of scarce and expensive materials.
Ramamoorty informed that ERDA also undertakes sponsored research projects on single or multi sponsored basis.
