Canon displays latest printers

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, MARCH 12: Canon India Private Ltd began its two-day road show - "Colour My Dreams" - here today to showcase its new range of state-of-the-art printers. The show, being held at Hotel Piccadilly in association with WIPRO and Redington, has unveiled its scanning enable printers, P-POP waterproof printing, photo-realism and internet enabled printing.

Tarun Thadani, national manager (printers), Canon Ltd, said the company was trying to create awareness among the people about its printers by mixing business with fun. Aimed at the home and small and medium segment, the show provides an opportunity to visitors to get their own photograph printed on a T-shirt.

Thadani said the company was targeting a share of 20 per cent in the 250,000 strong inkjet printers market by reaching out to prospective buyers in Chandigarh, Pune, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Lucknow and other such cities. "The road show marks the beginning of our efforts in this direction. We already have a strong presence in the metros," he added.

The company is organising similar road shows in nine other cities - Pune, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Surat, Lucknow and Calcutta to create awareness about its patented bubble jet printing technology.
