Student killed by fellow collegians

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, MARCH 17: A student of NG Swamy College (Chembur), Sameer Jadhav (20), was killed by his fellow collegians at Chembur on Tuesday night. Jadhav was attacked with bats and stumps by five students, police said.

The incident took place at around 10.30 pm, when Navneet Kavaskar (21) of NG Swamy College had a quarrel with one Kiran Patil (17) of the same college near Siddhant Travels along NG Marg. Jadhav and his friend Vikas Chavan (18) were with Kavaskar when the altercation took place.

Some time after the quarrel had died down, Patil returned to the spot with his friends Rishiprakash Patil (22), Nalin Patil (18), Mayur Shinde (17) and Ranjeet Ovhal (21). Finding Kavaskar missing, they attacked Chavan and Jadhav with bats and stumps. The injured were taken to Shatabdi Hospital, Chembur, where Jadhav was declared dead before admission. Chavan was given first aid and discharged.

All the five attackers have been arrested.
