SAD members alleged that the the Nari Niketan was a slaughter house in disguise of a shelter home. They raised slogans against the administration for not providing proper care and treatment to the residents.

Harjinder Kaur, former deputy mayor of UT, blamed the administration ``for turning a blind eye to the pathetic conditions of the inmates''.

The president of the Istri wing of SAD offered to provide financial assistance to the institute if the administration was incapable of managing it.

The members alleged that inmates facing trial were never produced in the court.
