HUDA demolition drive on

PANCHKULA, March 17: The Advisor of Residents Welfare Association, Col D. C. Bhalla submitted a copy of the stay order dated 1.11.98 under Justice G. S. Mittal and Justice S. S. Sodhi to the Estate Officer, N. K. Singla, though HUDA continued it's demolition drive.

When contacted by Newsline, Bhalla said that the stay order has not yet been vacated and the complaint was signed by J. D. Sharma who was one of those who had applied for the stay and also Dr S. K. Chabbra, president of the Resident Welfare Society, Sector 7. The Copy was submitted at 3 p.m.

"Today we demolished 76 encrachments in Sector 6 and are suspending the work from tomorrow due to lack of force as the Navratra's have started.The work will continue after the force is available," Singla, told Newsline.
