Manjit Singh claims Mr India title

CHANDIGARH, March 17: Manjit Singh of Punjab was declared Mr India in the 37th Senior National bodybuilding championship, which concluded recently at Moodbidri (Manglore). According to a press release, other titles bagged by Manjit Singh, an employee of Punjab Police, who started body building in 1992, are Mr North India and Mr Senior Punjab State.

He also got first prize for best posing in the Asian Junior Championship.

Haryana golf
The Haryana Golf Association will organise first Haryana Golf Association Classic Resort Invitational tournament at Classic Golf Resort, Gurgaon on March 19.

According to a press release, the association has also chalked out their annual plan which includes training camps for the young golfers.

Kabaddi team
A 22-member kabbadi team will take part in the International kabaddi tournament being held at Islamabad from March 19.

The members of the team includes harjinder Singh Kala, Jagjit, Dilwar Khan and Jaswant.

Ajay selcted
Ajay Sharma of Chandigarh has been selected to represent United India Insurance Company team in the Inter-Company cricket tournament to be held at Mumbai from March 22.

According to a press release, Ajay performed excellently during the just concluded Inter-Zone Insurance cricket tournament held at Hyderabad.

Karate trials
Trials to select Chandigarh karate teams for National karate championship slated to be held at Gandhi Nagar from March 29, will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m., at MDAV School in Sector 22.

Cricket tourney
The first Baishki Cup cash prize cricket tournament for Sprash Trophy will be organised from March 27. According to a press release, entries close on March 23, with Gurinder Gogi, SCO 1006-1007, Sector 22.
