Sri Lankan refugees' huts gutted

MADURAI, MARCH 21: Altogether 82 huts of Sri Lankan Tamil refugee families were gutted in a major fire at Arasappavillaipatti in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu yesterday.

However, there were no casualties.

Dindigul police sources said property worth Rs 6.5 lakh was destroyed in the mishap, which was caused by a fire in one of the huts after a stove was pushed down by a cat.
