BHUBANESWAR, MARCH 21: The circle inspector and sub-inspector of R Udayagiri police station and two other police officials were been suspended for their failure to take timely action to avert the communal clash between the Hindus and Christians at Ranalai village in Gajapati district.Highly placed official sources said the CI had not informed the higher officials about the tension simmering in Ranalai village for a week. Had they informed the higher-ups in the district administration and taken timely action, the clash could have been averted, sources said.
