Parents oppose squad visit to exam centre

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SURAT, March 21: Extra police force had to be rushed to Madhi to be deployed outside the examination centre there as angry parents gathered in large numbers to protest against the visit by a flying squad on Saturday.

Taken aback by the sudden visit of the flying squad from Bharuch, the parents first refused to let the squad in, and later gathered near the entrance of M K Patel High School. The squad members reportedly asked a couple of students to remove their trousers on recovering chits from them.

This also became a cause of resentment among students and their parents. When the situation appeared to take a turn for the worse, the centre supervisor sought additional police force from the neighbouring Bardoli town.
