Mataji's visit
Her holiness, Mataji Nirmala Devi will be holding a discourse on March 25 at Modern College, at 7.00 p.m. For 28 years she has been a noted exponent of Sahaja Yoga. She has reportedly, guided people from almost 80 countries in this form of yoga. According to its exponents, Sahaja Yoga helps improve concentration, memory, and sharpens decision making capabilities. A lot of research has also ben conducted at the Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, and it was concluded that the practice of Kudalini awakening by Sahaja Yoga could help in relieving deep rooted tensions and stresses of the day. Shri Ashtisiddha Hanuman Janmaotsav of Shri Ashtisiddha Hanuman mandir located next to Centre Street police station at 343, Sachapir street, will be celebrated with the traditional and religious fervour on March 31. Panguni Uthiram festival
The Shree Shanmukhananda Sabha will celebrate Panguni Uthiram festival at Lord Kartikeya temple atop Parvati hill on Wednesday, March 31 from 7.30 a.m to 1.00 p.m. The programme includes Abhishekam, Alankaram, Sahasranama Archana and Deeparadhana followed by distribution of Mahaprasadam. Shri Arutkavi Sadhuram Swamigal from Nanganallur, Chennai, will conduct bhajans and give a discourse. The Swaminagal will also give a discourse at Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Adya Sankar Mandir near Sarasbaug on Monday, March 29 at 6.00 p.m. Details of the programme can be got from S. Bhageerathan and V. Hanuman Jayanti
Shri Hari Hara Bhajana Samajam will celebrate Sriramanavami and Hanuman Jayanti from March 25 to March 30 and Panguni Uthiram on March 31. The Sriramnavami programme will commence with Sri Ram Nama Japam. Sri Mahaganpati Homam, Sri Purushasukhta Homam and Bhajan from 7.00 a.m to 12.30 p.m. and discourse on Sri Ram Nama Japam by M.V. Venkataraman will be held from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. Setha Ramakalyana Mahaotsavam and Anjaneya Utsavam in the morning and chariot procession will be taken out on March 26 in the evening. Avinash Chaitanya of the Chinmaya mission of Coimbatore will render religious discourses in Tamil from March 28 to March 30 at 7.30 p.m. Shasranama Archana and Deepardhama will be one on March 31, both in the morning and evening.
Silver Kanchanam
Silver Kanchanam will be applied by T.S. Raghavan, chairman and managing director of Indian Bank, Chennai on March 31. this will be at the Shri Untade Maruti Mandir, near K.E.M hospital at Rasta Peth. The three day Hanuman Jayanti programme commences with Sri Ganpati Homam on March 29 at 7.00 a.m., Sri Hanumanta Homama on March 30 and Hanuman Jayanti on March 31.
