KCC Dhanas `A' win

CHANDIGARH, March 21: Kabaddi Coaching Centre, Dhanas `A' beat Government College of Education, Sector 20, 25-22 in the women's section in the Chandigarh State Senior kabaddi championship, which began at Government College of Education in Sector 20 here today.

In another match Coaching Centre, Sector 42 defeated KCC Dhanas `B' 53-24.KCC Dhanas `A', however, scored victory over Diamond Club 33-17, in their second outing and confirmed their entry into the final.

In the men's section, Government College of Education-20 got the better of Yoga Club 60-20, in a one-sided encounter.

Ten teams,including five in the women's section are participating in the meet.

The final will be played tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Boxing team.
The 12-member Chandigarh boxing team will take part in the 45th senior National boxing championship slated to be held at Vishakpatnam from March 25 to 30.

The boxers were selected during the just concluded state meet. However, Harvinder Singh, winner of the bronze medal in the fifth National Games held at Imphal, does not figure in the team.

Team: Ramesh Singh (light fly), Davinder Singh (fly), Parmod Singh Negi (bantam), Amar Kotal (feather), Sanjeev Kumar (light), Jasbir Singh (light welter), Varinder Dangi (welter), Naresh Kumar (light middle), Abhay Kapoor (middle), Kulwinder Singh (light heavy), Amrit Pal Singh (heavy) and Ranbir Singh Wadhawan (super heavy).

Shiv Singh and Parambir Singh Brar will accompany the team as coach and manager respectively. Balkar Singh will be the ring official.
