Sonia's efforts lauded
Akhil Bhartiya Sonia Gandhi Youth Association today lauded the efforts of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi in ``infusing a new life'' into the party. In a press release, D.R. Viresh Shandilya, joint secretary of the association, today stated that the persistent efforts of Sonia Gandhi had galvanised the party which had again won the trust of the public.

Blood camp held
A blood donation camp was organised today at the Punjab Congress Bhawan, Sector 15, by Punjab Youth Congress to mark the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters and trecentenary celebrations of the Khalsa Panth. The camp was attended by Capt Amarinder Singh, president PPCC, and Manish Tewari, president, Indian Youth Congress.

Immunisation camp
As many as 500 people, including volunteers, in charges of nodal centres took part in a programme on "Small Family Norms" and immunisation in Colony No.4 organised by the Adult Education Department of Chandigarh Administration. The small family norms, its merits and immunisation at various stages was discussed by Dr S.C.Sharma.

The Haryana Harijan Welfare Nigam Workers Union today criticised the delay and inaction on the part of the government in implementing the Fifth Pay Commission. Wearing black badges the members of the union today held a meeting at the Red Bishop Panchkula to discuss their future course of action.

Meeting held
Head of offices of all Central government offices, undertakings, corporations of Chandigarh took part in a meeting of Chandigarh Town Official Language Implementation Committee held at Kisan Bhawan on March 23. Prizes were given to winners of Hindi Essay Writing competition by Surender Paul Kaur, chief commissioner of Income Tax, North West Region.
