Woman jumps into drain with kids, latter die
A 32-year-old woman jumped into a drain along with her two children near her house in Mansarovar Park in north-east district on Wednesday. While she survived the suicide attempt, both children died. According to the police, Veena Sharma jumped into the nullah near her house near Chanderlok Hanuman Mandir at around 3.55 am along with her nine-month-old daughter Sweety and one-and-a-half-year-old son Khushboo. Her husband Raj Kumar was not at home at that time.

One killed in road mishap
A 40-year-old woman was killed and six others injured when a Tata 407 truck rammed an ambulance carrying a body in Punjabi Bagh early this morning. The police say the ambulance was carrying the body of Inderpal to Aligarh. It was also carrying seven of his relatives, who had hired the ambulance at around 3 am. However, as they reached the T-point junction at Madipur near Paschim Vihar, a truck rammed into them. And such was the impact, that all the passengers of the ambulance were thrown out and Munni Devi was killed instantaneously.

I-T dept official held for graft
A deputy commissioner of the income tax department has been arrested by the anti-corruption branch of the Delhi government for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the director of a company. ACP M.S. Sandhu said R.K. Shukla was caught while accepting the money from the director of Elpar Cables India (Pvt) Ltd, Vipin Kumar on Tuesday.

Woman set afire n A 50-YEAR-OLD woman was set afire at her residence in Seelampur early on Tuesday morning. While she claims that her husband, a CID sub-inspector, was responsible, the police say they doubt it. The victim, Gobindi in her statement said her husband Latoor Singh (56) had set her ablaze around 7 am.
