VADODARA, March 24: About 70 encroachments were removed by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) from various parts of the city over a two-day anti-encroachment drive on Tuesday and Wednesday.Kaccha-pakka constructions, sheds, counters, hawkers encroaching upon the GIDC and Tarsali Housing Board areas as well as those lining the Navgruh temple near Pratapnagar bridge, the stretch between Narhari Hospital and Kamatibaug were removed as part of the operation conducted under the supervision of Deputy Municipal Commissioner H S Patel following orders issued by Municipal Commissioner G R Aloria.
Vehicle Tax: All ward offices of the VMC and Vehicle Tax branches of the Municipal Tax department will accept payments of vehicle tax on March 25, 27, 28 and 29, declared as holidays for the VMC. Payments will be accepted between 10.30 am and 2 pm.
Hike in service charges: Charges for availing various Fire Brigade services within the municipal limits will be increased with effect from April 1.
