NEW DELHI, MARCH 24: The special cell of the Delhi Police today said they arrested a Pakistan-trained Kashmiri militant near Jaipur Estate in East Nizammuddin yesterday and recovered 400 gm of RDX and five electronic detonators from his possession. The police have also recovered a driving licence issued in the name of Nasir Ahmed Bhatt from Muzaffarabad (POK) and an identity card issued by Azad government of Jammu and Kashmir from him. Based on the information received by the special cell that some Kashmiri militants have sneaked into Delhi and are planning to set off bomb blasts at crowded places during Ram Nawami celebrations, investigations were carried out and Javed Ahmed Munshi alias Bhatt was arrested. According to the police, Munshi revealed that he is the district commander of Srinagar for Tehriq-Ul-Mujahideen (TUM), an ISI supported outfit of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also told the police that he had been inspired Abdullah Siraj, chief of Balkot Operations (a terrorist outfit in the Kashmir), who had asked him to work for him. He was sent for training to Afghanistan. From there, he allegedly got 35 days training in handling arms and explosives at the Khost training centre, Afghanistan, and then returned to Muzaffarabad in Pakistan. He had also made an unsuccessful attempt to cross the Indian border in 1991. He, however, managed to enter India in 1992 with the help of the Hizbullah.
