Unidentified body found
The Umra police recovered the body of an unidentified 35-year-old man from beside Uttar Apartments, Lal Bunglow area on Wednesday morning. The body does not bear injury marks and has been sent to the New Civil hospital for an autopsy. PSI K R Gohil is investigating further.

Accidental death
One Ashok Chhagan Chauhan, 24, working in the welding fabrication department of Larsen and Toubro company and residing in L&T Quarters died on admission to the New Civil hospital on Wednesday morning after an iron roll fell on his chest. Chauhan was hit on the chest when the roof fell at around 5.15 am and was declared dead at around 6.45 am, the Ichhapore police said, who have registered a case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Burns death
One Arpita Dhirendra, a 19-year-old married woman residing in Bhatla village on the outskirts of the city, died in the New Civil hospital late on Tuesday evening, where she was admitted on March 20 with severe burn injuries. According to the DD of the victim, she sustained injuries in her house while cooking. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered in the Ichhapore police station.

Theft
Cash, gold and silver jewellery and other valuables worth 45,000 were reported stolen from a flat in Bhatena area of the city on Wednesday morning. Alfred David Christian, owner of flat nos 205 and 206 of Navketan Apartments in Bhatena told the police that unidentified people entered his house and after breaking open two cupboards, escaped with cash of Rs 13,000, two gold chains, gold bangles, rings, lockets and other valuables. The Udhna police have registered a case under IPC 454 and 380 and are investigating further. No arrests have been made as yet.
