Kambli, Shukla make way for Sehwag, Robin

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
JAIPUR, MARCH 24: ``It is not a disaster,'' shot back skipper Mohammed Azharuddin in reply to an obvious question after the 143-run thrashing against Pakistan in the Pepsi tri-series here today. ``Please don't use such strong words. You are destroying Indian cricket by saying such things,'' added the disappointed Indian skipper after his side's biggest defeat against their neighbours in terms of the run-margin.

``By saying such things you are causing divisions, which is not good,'' he went on. On the match itself he gave the Pakistani bowlers all the credit for having bowled and maintained the toss made no difference. In fact, he said the wicket became slower as the day progressed.

Other than the grim post mortem, the media meet was also utilised by the management to announce the team for their next match against Sri Lanka in Pune on March 27.

In keeping with their policy of trying out all the 19 World Cup probables before the Sharjah tournament next month, Delhi's Virendra Sehwag and Robin Singh arein. Out of action are Vinod Kambli and Laxmi Rattan Shukla.

TEAM: Mohammed Azharuddin (capt), Saurav Ganguly, Ajay Jadeja, Rahul Dravid, Robin Singh Sr, Nayan Mongia (wk), Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Ajit Agarkar, Gyanendra Pandey, Nikhil Chopra, S Ramesh, Virendra Sehwag and Amay Khurasia.
