Abhishek Sharma's effort of no avail

NEW DELHI, MARCH 24: Thirteen-year-old Abhishek Sharma's all-round performance (3 for 28 and 66) for Sarojini Nagar Gymkhana went in vain as Syndicate Bank beat them by two runs in their C division match of DDCA league at Kotla 2 here.

In a A-1 division game at Kotla 1, Food Corporation of India, powered by Nitish Malik's all-round show (2 for 46 and 70), defeated South Delhi Club by seven wickets.

In other matches, Lion Kanishkha beat Canara Bank by 136 runs in C division; Little Masters downed Rehman Club by eight wickets in A-2; and J N Golden defeated Indian Airlines by 66 runs.

Brief scores: South Delhi Club: 176 for 9 (Gursharan Singh 48, Rajkapoor 32, Utkarsh Gautam 20, Nitish Malik 2 for 46, Guru Satkar 2 for 34) lost to FCI: 177 for 3 (Nitish Malik 70, Ashwani Katyal 53, Deepak Kapoor 40 not out) by seven wickets.

Syndicate Bank: 215 for 8 (Ashok Verma 42, RKumar 41, Abhinav Bali 4 for 26, Abhishek Sharma 3 for 28) beat Sarojini Nagar Gymkhana: 213 for 8 (Abhishek Sharma 66, Vikas Kapoor 52, Hemant Bansal 33, P R Mehta 2 for 45) by two runs.

Lion Kanishkha: 254 for 6 (Vinay Yadav 63 not out, Ravinder Rawat 44, Anil Kumar 41, Khem Rawat 75, Arun Jain 3 for 54) beat Canara Bank: 118 (Harmesh Talwar 24, Khem Rawat 2 for 8, Vinay Yadav 2 for 17, Rajinder Gosain 2 for 17) by 136 runs.

Rehman Club: 159 (Mohd Zahid 29, Vikas Chandan 3 for 18, Umesh Singh 2 for 27, Chandan 2 for 28, Sunil Sharma 2 for 32) lost to Little Masters: 163 for 2 (Umesh Singh 63, Rajinder 53 not out) by eight wickets.

J N Golden: 198 for 7 (Amolak Singh 30, Manvinder Singh 30, Mohd Atiq 26, Ishan Ganda 2 for 34) beat Indian Airlines: 132 (Sushil Thakur 40 not out, Anil Sood 32, Ashok Mudgal 3 for 30, Amolak Singh 2 for 19) by 66 runs.
