NEW DELHI, MARCH 26: Pamela Philipose, a Senior Editor with The Indian Express and Vasavi of Prabhat Khabar, Ranchi, have been selected for the Media Foundation Chameli Devi Jain Award 1999 for outstanding woman mediaperson.A distinguished journalist, now based in New Delhi, Pamela Philipose has been writing extensively on women's issues, development, environment and human rights.
The jury consisted of Meenakshi Gopinath, Principal of the Lady Sri Ram College, Rami Chhabra, journalist, filmmaker and women's activist and Prabhash Joshi, columnist and former editor of Jansatta.
It also made a commendation of Homai Vyarawala for her pioneering role in photojournalism over a lifetime.
The awards will be given away on March 31 at 6 pm at the India International Centre auditorium in New Delhi.
