Krajicek marches into final

REUTERS
KEY BISCAYNE, MARCH 26: Former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek combined a booming serve with a confident baseline game to advance to the final of the Lipton Tennis tournament.

The quarter-final conqueror of World number one Pete Sampras easily dispatched 14th-seeded Australian Open runner-up Thomas Enqvist of Sweden 6-4, 6-2 immediately becoming overwhelming favourite to take the title tomorrow.

In the best-of-five set final, Krajicek will face winner of the Francisco Clavet (Spain) and Sebastien Grosjean (France) encounter.

On the women's side, five-time champion Steffi Graf moved into the semifinals without striking a ball when second seed Lindsay Davenport pulled out with a wrist injury.

Graf next faces sixth seed and defending champion Venus Williams, who rallied to beat fourth-seeded Wimbledon champion Jana Novotna 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
