Karanataka girl held for writing sister's exam

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
DAVANAGERE, MARCH 30: A girl impersonating her younger sister was found writing Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination by the special mobile squad at Lokikere exam centre on Saturday near here.

The younger sister, Virupakshamma, was supposed to have appeared for the science paper but instead, her elder sister, Nirmala, was found writing the exams. On inquiry, the squad found out that Nirmala had been appearing for all the SSLC examinations for her sister.

The squad has taken an undertaking from the candidate and has sent the same to the SSLC Board. The school authorities said that Nirmala did not belong to the school.

In another incident, Manjunath, a teacher appointed as invigilator for the SSLC exams at Kasturba High School of Lokikere village was suspended from duty for aiding students in copying.
